S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon returns to Stanley Park July 10

Posted date: June 21, 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vancouver, BC – Following two years of virtual events, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is excited to announce that the annual Walk with the Dragon event is back in person at Stanley Park this year on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

The 37th Annual Walk with the Dragon is our largest community-based fundraising event, which has been held in Vancouver’s scenic Stanley Park since 1986. The event is led by the longest Dragon in North America – the 100-foot long S.U.C.C.E.S.S. dragon is carried by 40 martial artists, leading walkers and corporate teams to participate in the walk routes through the park.

The 2022 Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome from prominent community leaders and elected officials, and then the grand 100-foot long S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Dragon is woken up from its year-long slumber in a symbolic dragon eye dotting ceremony. There are two variations of the walk to accommodate various age and activity levels: a seven kilometer circuit around the Seawall and a three kilometer circuit around Lost Lagoon.

Following the walk, participants and the public are invited to join us at our family-friendly fair in the park at Lumberman’s Arch. The fair features live music, entertainment and activities, giveaways and prizes, carnival games, photo and community booths.

This year’s fundraising goal is $420,000. Proceeds will go directly to support the wellness of our communities, particularly essential S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs for families, youth, women, and seniors.

Team and Individual registration is open now!  Sign up or donation, please visit:  2022 Walk with the Dragon – S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation (convio.net). For more information, visit www.successfoundation.ca/, email [email protected] or call 604-408-7228.
