Hastings-Sunrise Better at Home

Older adults age 60+ in Vancouver Hastings-Sunrise are supported to live independently in their own homes and to remain connected to their local community.

Services We Offer

  • Light housekeeping
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Assistance with grocery shopping
  • Friendly visits by volunteers 

Fees may apply based on a sliding scale that is aligned to each individual’s/couple’s annual net income. Friendly visiting services by volunteers are free of charge.

COVID-19 Update

As the BC Restart Plan is under way, some of our regular services have resumed.

The Safe Seniors, Strong Communities initiative is still under way, which supports older adults with the following services:

  • Grocery shopping and delivery
  • Prescription pick-up and delivery
  • Meal pick-up and delivery
  • Virtual (online or telephone) friendly visits

Regardless of where you reside in BC, you can call 2-1-1 to request services. The BC 211 operator will connect you to the service agency that is closest to you.

Volunteers play an important role in supporting older adults in the community.
