Better at Home

About Better at Home 

• Supports seniors living independently at home by providing non-medical services. 

• Better at Home is a province-wide program, managed by United Way of the Lower Mainland through funding received from the Government of British Columbia. 

• Services are delivered by staffs and volunteers, who have passed their criminal record check. 

 Service Eligibility 

• Older adults who age 55 or older
• Seniors who need assistance with simple day-to-day tasks
• Reside in Vancouver Hastings Sunrise area (East of Nanaimo St., North of E. Broadway, West of Boundary Rd and South of Burrard Inlet)
• Reside in Surrey Whalley area (Bridgeview, Fraser Height, Tynehead, Surrey Whalley, Fleetwood and more)

• Light Housekeeping* 

• Grocery Delivery 

• Friendly Visiting 

• Transportation to Medical Appointments 

• Navigation and Digital Support 

*Fees are charged on a sliding scale based on annual income. 

Referrals 

We accept self-referrals or referrals from other agencies or health professionals.
