TELUS Campaign Results in Major Donation to S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
February 8, 2019 – Vancouver, BC – A fall campaign by TELUS has resulted in a major donation of $20,000 to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation that will benefit S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s underfunded and unfunded seniors, youth, and children’s programs.
“We are honoured to receive this major donation from one of our most valued community partners,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation. “We look forward to continuing our partnership for the benefit of the community and all users of our services.”
Last year TELUS invested $110 million to connect Richmond homes and businesses directly to the TELUS PureFibre™ network. For every new PureFibre sign-up in the city between October and December 2018, TELUS donated $25 to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. As a result, these new TELUS customers directly contributed to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs and services throughout the Lower Mainland that will benefit newcomers to Canada, children, youth and seniors.
“At TELUS, we give where we live, and we’re proud to make this contribution to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation,” said Andy Balser, Vice President of TELUS Home Solutions Marketing. “As one of the most giving companies in the world, we believe we have a responsibility to help connect our neighbours to the technology, people, educational opportunities, and resources they need to thrive. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. shares these values, and we are proud to support them as they continue to meaningfully impact the lives of those who use the organization’s programs and services.”
As one of BC’s largest non-profit social service agency, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. operates programs and services for children, youth and seniors, as well as for newcomers to Canada. Without funding from generous corporate donors such as TELUS, vital programs would not be able to continue and serve those who are most in need.
Since 2000, TELUS, its team members and retirees have contributed more than $1.7 million and volunteered 89,000 hours to charities and community organizations in Richmond.
