S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and the Vancouver Granville Lions Club give seniors a lift with new charity concert gala

Posted date: September 21, 2022

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and the Vancouver Granville Lions Club are thrilled to announce they will be hosting a Dickie Lam Charity Concert Gala to benefit seniors at S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

Media are cordially invited to join us at the kickoff announcement of the charity concert gala, presented by the Vancouver Granville Lions Club, together with title sponsor Elite Wealth Management.

In attendance will be S.U.C.C.E.S.S. CEO Queenie Choo, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Executive Director for Multi-Level Care for Seniors Sinder Kaur and Founder and President of the Vancouver Granville Lions Club Annie Lau. Angela Fok, Founder of Elite Wealth Management will also attend, alongside Performer Dickie Lam and Music Director Tony Arevalo Jr., and Vice President of the Vancouver Film and Television Artists Society Mimi Chan.

The Dickie Lam “Power of Love” charity concert gala is scheduled for Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at River Rock Show Theatre at 8811 River Road in Richmond, BC. Proceeds will go to support a very good cause: new mechanical ceiling lifts to help seniors living in our Simon K. Y. Lee Seniors Care Home.

Gala tickets start at $200 and are available by emailing [email protected] or calling 778-893-9937. Donations can be made at: https://bit.ly/3BM6DyZ.

The Simon K. Y. Lee Care Home was opened in Chinatown in 2001 and today it provides professionally directed care to senior residents with complex care needs 24/7. As our residents become frail, they require to be moved using ceiling lift transfers, yet currently, only 46 of our 114 rooms are equipped with these lifts, which cost approximately $10,000 each. This fundraiser will help seniors in their mobility and transfers.

The Vancouver-Granville Lions Club and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. have been working together to build community connections, fundraise and promote the quality of life of seniors along with our Goodwill Ambassador Council that was formed in September 2006.

Date: Friday, Sept. 23, 2022

Time: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. (PST)

Location: Continental Seafood Restaurant, 11700 Cambie Rd., Richmond B.C.
