Waleed Al Sallami was inspired by his experience as an Iraqi immigrant to help other newcomers. He began his career as a volunteer for various organizations before joining S.U.C.C.E.S.S. “I promised myself that I would provide them with the information they require,” he recalls, adding that working at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. was a “call to help others.”
Waleed applied for the Settlement Practitioner position at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in 2019, and he now works with the Arabic-speaking community. In addition, he provides employment assistance to a broader audience, guiding clients through their job-search journeys and providing information to the LGBTQ2S+ community.
“I’ve never felt more at home anywhere else,” Waleed said of his experience as a staff member in our multicultural organization. “People count on me to be the change I bring to them. I’m a part of a community that needs my services because I make a difference with my contribution.” Waleed adds that his access to training and employee benefits allow him to focus on finding answers for his clients while also ensuring his personal well-being. “If you want to have a purpose,” he says, “go to S.U.C.C.E.S.S.” Start your S.U.C.C.E.S.S. story.
