Privacy Protection

  • We respect the privacy rights of individuals.
  • We are committed to protecting the privacy of personal information that we collect, use and disclose in the course of providing service, organizing activities and managing the Society.
  • We will safeguard the personal information we collect from individuals.
  • We will do so in strict compliance with the prevailing legislation.

Personal Information

Personal information means information about an identifiable individual. The personal information that we collect from individuals includes, but is not limited to:

  • Name, age, gender, country of origin, immigrant status, length of residence, language(s), education
  • Home address, email address, telephone number, fax number
  • Social Insurance Number (SIN), Record of Landing (IMM1000), Permanent Resident Card (PR Card)
  • Emergency contact person, telephone number and address
  • Employment information, financial information
  • Photographs
  • Service interventions

Personal information does not cover business contact information, which includes name, position name or title, business telephone number, business address, business email or business fax number of the individual.


When we collect personal information from individuals, we will first explain to them the purpose of the collection.

The purpose of collecting personal information from individuals may be one or more of the following:

  • Provide and manage services
  • Determine the eligibility of individuals for different programs and services
  • Meet funding, regulatory or accreditation requirements
  • Manage and develop resources to meet service needs
  • Keep individuals informed of the activities of the Society
  • Develop services to meet the needs of clients

We will limit the amount and scope of information, and collect only what is necessary to fulfill the identified purpose.


  • We will first ask for individuals’ consent when we collect personal information.
  • People may consent to our collection in writing or orally.
  • If there is a change in purpose later, we will inform individuals and obtain a new consent from them.
  • At any time, individuals may withdraw consent for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to use or disclose their personal information.


Only authorized persons will have access to personal information based on their need to know the information for the purpose it was collected.

We will use appropriate organizational, physical, and technological measures to protect the personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, duplication, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

We will retain the personal information only as long as it is required for the purposes for which it was collected.
