Vancouver Granville Lions Club raised $15,000 for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation

Vancouver, BC – The Vancouver Granville Lions Club held a successful fundraising dinner on June 16, 2017 in support of S.U.C.C.E.S.S Foundation. With the tremendous support from the club’s founding President, Ms. Annie Lau, together with the leadership from event Chair, Mr. Dickie Lam and incoming President, Ms. Vivian Chan, the event celebrated a fundraising total of $15,000 toward their $50,000 commitment to name an Activity Centre at S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’ Austin Harris Residence in Richmond.
With the recent renovation of the Austin Harris Residence to include a new Adult Day Care Centre, approximately 125 additional seniors will be using the facility on a weekly basis. As a result, there will be an increased need to provide continuous care and adequate exercises for our seniors to ensure their mobility and independence.
“We are extremely grateful for the support from members of the Vancouver Granville Lions Club”, said Ms. Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation. “Their meaningful contribution will allow us to renovate our centre and to purchase equipment that are specifically designed for our clients.”
“Thanks to the donations, seniors will be able to maintain their emotional and physical health, giving them the opportunity to remain mobile and independence while improving their quality of life as they progress into their golden years,” said Alice Choi, Executive Director of Multi-level Care at S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
Remaining proceeds will be raised through other fundraising activities planned for October 2017 and early 2018. Once confirmed, details will be available by calling 604-408-7228 or by visiting our website at www.successfoundation.ca.
