S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Welcomes New Chair Donnie Wing
Vancouver, BC – The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held yesterday, September 24, 2017. Donnie Wing was elected Chair to lead the 16-member Board of Directors in 2017-18. The Board also welcomed four new members: Philip Bates, Dr. Alice Maria Chung, Tony Wong and Terry Yung.
“We are grateful for the Board’s commitment this past year, especially from outgoing chair Grace Wong for her thought leadership in elevating S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s ability to build bridges, harvest diversity and foster integration,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. “We look forward to working with the new Board led by Donnie Wing to further our goal to build S.U.C.C.E.S.S. as a leader in Canada in innovative programing and in the understanding of issues related to the settlement of immigrants.”
Through the dedicated contributions of staff, volunteers, community partners and funders, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. had significant accomplishments in 2016-17 in its core service areas of Immigrant, Seniors Care and Affordable Housing. In 2016-17, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. served more than 61,200 clients and provided over 144,100 client services through service centres in Metro Vancouver, Fort St. John, Toronto and three overseas offices in Beijing, China; Seoul, South Korea and Taipei, Taiwan.
“I am honoured to succeed Grace Wong as Chair and am grateful for the Board’s confidence,” said Donnie Wing, newly elected chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. “I look forward to working with my fellow directors and the remarkable team led by CEO Queenie Choo to serve more British Columbians.”

Bios of Donnie Wing, Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
Donnie Wing is currently the president & CEO of Healthcare Benefit Trust. Prior to this role, he held a number of senior executive positions at ICBC including senior vice-president, Corporate Affairs, senior vice-president of Insurance, Marketing and Underwriting and chief financial officer and was also a trustee for the joint ICBC union pension plan. He has senior leadership experience in large, complex government agencies and crown corporations with responsibilities spanning strategic planning, government relations, corporate law, rate setting, actuarial services, investments, performance measurement, change management and regulatory affairs. He is also a chartered accountant (CPA CA).
Donnie has been a member of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Board of Directors since 2012 and has served as Treasurer and Vice Chair. He was elected as Chair at the 2017 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. AGM.
