S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to celebrate 30 new Canadians with Canada Day citizen ceremony held on HMCS Vancouver in North Vancouver

Vancouver, B.C. – S.U.C.C.E.S.S., together with the Royal Canadian Navy and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will present 30 newcomers with their Canadian citizenship in a special citizenship ceremony on Canada Day, July 1.

Select media are invited to join us for this moving celebration of patriotism and pride, which is being held at a very unique venue: the flight deck of HMCS Vancouver, a Halifax-class frigate of the Royal Canadian Navy docked in North Vancouver for Vancouver Fleet Week.

Date: Tuesday, July 1, 2025
Time: Registration: 1 p.m.; Event: 1:30 p.m.
Location: HMCS Vancouver, Burrard Dry Dock Pier, 15 Wallace Mews, North Vancouver, BC

RSVP: Please email [email protected] by 5 p.m. June 27 to secure your spot. As space is extremely limited, advance RSVPs are required for all media. Media must present ID for registration.

Parking: Parking is limited due to multiple Canada Day celebrations being held on the North Vancouver waterfront July 1. Please consider taking transit and ensuring additional travel time.

This joint celebration will see 30 new Canadians take their citizenship oath before IRCC Citizenship Judge Carol-Ann Hart, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. CEO Queenie Choo, Board Chair Doug Purdie, and the Royal Canadian Navy’s Commander of Maritime Forces Pacific Rear-Admiral Christopher Robinson.

The HMCS Vancouver is a Halifax-class frigate, based at CFB Esquimalt and docked in North Vancouver for Vancouver Fleet Week. It has a crew compliment of approximately 240 personnel and has the ability to embark a CH-148 Cyclone helicopter. It’s the third naval ship to bear the name Vancouver, as a tribute to the city.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. enjoys a special relationship with the Royal Canadian Navy, as agency CEO Queenie Choo was appointed as the first Chinese-Canadian woman named an Honorary Captain of the Royal Canadian Navy in 2018. Captain Choo is affiliated with HMCS Vancouver.
