S.U.C.C.E.S.S. 39th Annual Walk with the Dragon raises $320,000 to fund community programs

Vancouver, BC – The annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon held on July 14 in Stanley Park raised more than $320,000 to continue our community programs.

Walk with the Dragon is S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s largest community-based fundraising event. It historically draws several thousand participants and is held in Stanley Park since 1986. Proceeds go directly to support essential S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs for families, youth, women, and seniors.

“Year after year, our community shows up to enjoy themselves and support S.U.C.C.E.S.S.” said S.U.C.C.E.S.S. CEO Queenie Choo. “It never fails to move me when I see how deep our connections in the community go and how much it means to people to be able to give back to an organization that helped them when they were newcomers to Canada.”

The event is led by the longest dragon in North America – the 100-foot long S.U.C.C.E.S.S. dragon is carried by 40 martial artists who lead walkers to participate in the three- or seven-kilometer routes through the park. Following the walk, our family-friendly fairgrounds are open to the public, featuring live music, entertainment, activities, giveaways, prizes, carnival games and photo booths.

中僑39屆百萬行共籌得 $320,000 以支持本地社區服務

卑詩省溫哥華 – 中僑百萬行於過去週末在士丹利公園舉行，共籌得超過 $320,000，以支持中僑本地社區服務。

中僑百萬行始於1986 年，歷年來吸引了數千名參與者，是我們最大型的社區籌款活動之一。活動每年在士丹利公園舉辦。所有的籌款將會直接用於支助家庭、青年、婦女和長者的項目。

「年復一年，社區大眾每年都參與並支持中僑，」中僑互助會及中僑基金會行政總裁周潘坤玲表示。 「當我看到我們在社區中的聯繫有多深，以及能夠回饋一個在他們剛來到加拿大時，幫助過他們的組織，對大家來說意味著什麼時，我總是感動不已。」

當日經開幕儀式為金龍點晴之後，北美最長100尺巨龍——中僑金龍 和 40 名武術家帶領 參與者和團隊 圍繞士丹利公園進行三公里或七公里步行。現場亦有老少咸宜的活動，包括現場音樂、娛樂、、贈品、獎品、嘉年華遊戲攤位和照相亭等。

中僑基金會主席 林頌恩表示：「我們對有今年的成績，並籌得善款支持中僑的重要社區服服，感到非常恩惠。」
