2020 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Virtual Walk with the Dragon Raises Over $238,000!

Posted date: August 5, 2020

Vancouver, BC – The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation was pleased to host the 35th annual iconic community event – S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon – online this year at walk.successfoundation.ca. With more than 3,000 participants, the Walk raised over $238,000 in support of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. services and programs which receive little or no funding from government sources.

This year’s Walk welcomed participants to visit the official website and complete 7 checkpoints in the virtual route map around Vancouver’s Stanley Park between July 25 through July 31, 2020. In addition, Canadian government officials shared their support through videos promoting the Walk, including The Honourable Harjit Sajjan, Minister of National Defence and federal MP for Vancouver South, The Honourable Senator Yonah Martin, the Honourable Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, Philippe Sutter, Consul General of France in Vancouver, The Honourable Alice Wong P.C., federal MP for the Richmond Center, The Honourable Anne Kang, Minister of Citizens’ Services and MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake, The Honourable Selina Robinson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and MLA for Coquitlam-Maillardville, The Honourable George Chow, Minister of State for Trade and MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview, The Honourable Teresa Wat, MLA for Richmond Centre, and The Honourable John Yap, MLA for Richmond-Steveston.

“This year’s Walk was virtual, and was accessible to anyone – anywhere. Every donation will make a real difference in the lives of the communities that we serve. Our immense gratitude to all of the sponsors, donors, participants, and staff for their hard work and dedication to bringing such success to the Walk,” said Chris Chan, Terry Liu and Jeffrey Lee, Co-Chairs of 2020 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Virtual Walk with the Dragon.

Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, added, “S.U.C.C.E.S.S. serves our communities with over 300 programs and services, providing help to the vulnerable and to those from all walks of life – from early childhood development to seniors. From programs such as our S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Help Lines to our seniors care services and to those we support during the current pandemic, your generosity will ensure that we can continue to compassionately help those in need. Thank you.”
