2019 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon Moves to Concord Pacific Place

June 5, 2019 – Vancouver, BC – In partnership with Concord Pacific, the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation is pleased to announce that, after 33 years in Stanley Park, its iconic Walk with the Dragon will be moving to Concord Pacific Place in the heart of Vancouver. The 2019 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon at Concord Pacific Place will be on Sunday, July 21.
“We are looking forward to holding the Walk at this new location, which we know will bring new energy and participants to the event, in addition to the many loyal supporters who participate year after year,” said event co-chairs Chris Chan, Terry Liu and Jim O’Dea.
“We are grateful to our Title Sponsor Concord Pacific for enabling us to move to this new venue,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation. “The annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon is a massive community effort and we cannot do it without our many volunteers, participants, sponsors and, of course, our event co-chairs and committee.”

Every year, more than 4,000 participants from across the Lower Mainland join this family-oriented community event to raise funds for S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s programs and services that receive partial or no government funding. The fundraising goal for the 2019 Walk is $380,000. Proceeds will support programs for seniors, women, youth and families.
As with previous years, the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Dragon will be “awakened” at a special ceremony before leading participants along a scenic three-kilometre route at the event. The festival portion will include a kids’ zone, interactive displays and entertainment on the main stage.
Concord Pacific Place is easily accessible from the Main Street and Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain stations in Vancouver. It is a short walk from major neighbourhoods including Yaletown, Gastown, Chinatown and Olympic Village.
