2018 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon raises $408,000
July 15, 2018 – Vancouver, BC – The 33rd annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon, organized by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, was held at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park today, attracting more than 3,000 participants who raised $408,000 for crucial social services and programs offered by S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
As with past years, the Walk was well attended by community leaders and representatives from the three levels of government. A 100-foot S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Dragon led the way for more than 100 Walk teams who marched along a three-kilometre route around Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park.
Festivities ran from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and featured many family-friendly activities including game booths, an expanded RBC Kids’ Zone, and more. The Vancouver Dragon Drum Team kicked off performances on the mainstage, followed by performances from CHMB AM1320, Fairchild Media Group, the Flower Academy of Dance (Mimie Ho Foundation), Panwiberry and Wu’s Taekwondo School Canada.
Chris Chan and Terry Liu, co-chairs of the 2018 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon, thanked the community for their support. “We would like to give our immense gratitude to every donor, corporate sponsor and community group for making the event such a great success.”
Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, added: “It has been inspiring to witness the dedication of our donors, participants and volunteers in the past few months. The Walk with the Dragon has brought the community together for 33 years. Proceeds from the event will enable us to assist even more people in need and create a stronger society for all.”
