媒體發布   即時發布  2024 年 10月 9 日    中僑互助會深切哀悼創始人葉吳美琪女士逝世    卑詩省溫哥華 –  中僑互助會沉痛地宣告我們敬愛的成員葉吳美琪女士 (Maggie Ip) 的離世。 葉吳美琪女士 是一位敬業且充滿熱情的領導者，為中僑互助會以及我們服務的社區作出了重大貢獻。    葉吳美琪是中僑互助會的重要人物。 多年來，對中僑互助會及其支持者具深刻的影響力。 在去年的50週年慶典上，Maggie表示，中僑成立時，許多新移民感到迷惘，不得不依靠加拿大的朋友才能生存。 「當時我們意識到新移民有巨大的潛力來幫助建立這個國家。」  中僑互助會及中僑基金會行政總裁周潘坤玲女士表示：「我們對葉吳美琪的去世深感悲痛。她的領導能力、同情心和對我們使命堅定不移的奉獻精神激勵我們所有人。 我們將通過繼續她所熱衷的重要工作來紀念她。」  中僑互助會在這個困難的時刻，向葉吳美琪的家人和朋友致以最深切的哀悼。她將永遠活在眾人和她所服務的社區的心中。    關於葉吳美琪  吳美琪女士出生於上海，後來移居加拿大，在渥太華大學取得教育碩士學位。 20 世紀 60 年代末，她與家人和丈夫葉承基先生 (Kelly Ip) 一起搬到了溫哥華。作為一名全職母親，Maggie 在 YWCA 董事會擔任志願者，主要服務於士達孔拿 和唐人街地區受過高等教育的新移民，如律師、醫生和教授。由於有大量來自香港的移民，而沒有足夠的資源來幫助所有人，她意識到溫哥華迫切需要為這些人提供幫助，幫助他們適應。於是，Maggie決定成立中僑互助會，如今已成為加拿大最大的社會服務機構。    了解更多資料 Elaine O’Connor Director, Strategic Communications and Partnerships S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
