Chance to Choose: A Youth Employment Program

Youth explore career pathways, enhance their employability and life skills, and achieve success in the local labour market through our 9-week integrated training and work experience program.

Services We Offer

  • Three weeks of life and employability skills training including short-term certificates such as first aid
  • Six weeks of paid work experience
  • One-to-one coaching for job search
  • Eight weeks of follow-up support after completing the work experience placement
  • Financial supports including training allowance

Service Eligibility

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Between the ages of 15-30 inclusive
  • Unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hrs/week)
  • Not a full-time student
  • Have not attended a similar program
