Vancouver, B.C. – S.U.C.C.E.S.S. will be able to provide ongoing and enhanced programming thanks to generous donations of more than $500,000 from community members who attended our 2023 Bridge to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Gala.
This year’s Gala coincides with our agency’s 50th Golden Anniversary celebration, marking our five decades of community service, following S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’ founding in 1973.
The annual fundraising event, held this year on April 8 at Vancouver’s Westin Bayshore Hotel, helps fund S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs that receive no funding or partial funding from the government, such as our counselling services, our Help Lines, which are offered in four languages, and our community programs for seniors.
“It’s been a real joy to celebrate this important milestone with our community as we mark five decades of helping people succeed on their Canadian journey,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation. “Many people I meet share touching stories about how S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has helped them or someone they know – your heartfelt support of our fundraisers ensures we can continue to offer our services to clients in need.”
The Gala provided a luxurious night of philanthropy, live entertainment and fine dining to the city’s business and community leaders, including a performance from Hong Kong singer Christopher Wong, a cocktail reception and silent and live auctions and raffles.
“The support the community shows to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. continues to amaze us,” said Foundation Board Chair Jason Lam. “My sincere gratitude goes out to all of our donors, event sponsors, volunteers and board members for their generous contributions. Your support ensures the success of our services and makes a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.”
