S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation Welcomes New Chair Jason Lam

Vancouver, BC –The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation held its annual general meeting on August 30 and announced Jason Lam as its new Board Chair.

“While it was challenging to raise the necessary funds during the height of the pandemic when health restrictions required events to go virtual, we adapted and forged ahead.,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation.

During the meeting, Choo acknowledged the support “from our donors, sponsors, Board members and volunteers, who made our signature annual events great successes, raising much-needed funds for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs that receive no or partial government funding.”

In 2021-22, the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation raised $747,230. Among the key services that received funding from the Foundation were personal counselling, Help Lines, support groups, vaccine education and senior care.

Additionally, we launched new programs to meet the demand, expanding our counselling services, launching a COVID-19 vaccination support service for diverse immigrant communities and expanding our Help Lines into new languages.

At the meeting, the Foundation also announced Jason Lam, as S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation Board chair, “it is my pleasure to serve as the chair of Foundation Board to fundraise for programs offered by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. – an organization that I am inspired for its services for the community.,” said Lam, on his second term returning to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation Board.

On behalf of S.U.C.C.E.S.S., “I would like to convey our sincere gratitude to the immediate past chair Brandon Hui for his incredible leadership and unwavering support for our community,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

In the year ahead, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation will continue to pursue its strategic goals, particularly in the areas of capital campaigns, endowment funds, major gifts fundraising and planned giving.
