Program: Foreign Credential Recognition (FCR) Project

About the Position:

The Program Coordinator engages with various internal and external stakeholders to promote the Foreign Credential Recognition (FCR) Project in the community and recruits new Project participants. The Program Coordinator also performs as a case manager to intake and support participants to achieve their FCR goals and find employment based on operational needs. 

Reports to: Program Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and implements the program according to the service contract
  • Ensures quality services and outcomes program are delivered
  • Delivers program services in achieving measurable objectives and outcomes
  • Provides case management support to program participants, such as conducting needs assessments by using a variety of assessment tools
  • Develops and monitors accreditation action plans with participants
  • Works with instructors to track learning pace and progress of participants
  • Builds connections within the industry sectors (such as dentistry) in order to locate suitable work placement and job openings for participants
  • Coordinates and participates in events to connect participants, instructors and employers/mentors
  • Collects data and prepares reports relating to the program
  • Communicates with and outreaches to service providers and community partners for marketing and participant referrals
  • Provides individualized employment support to participants in order to enhance their employment outcomes
  • Provides ongoing support to participants to ensure that participant FCR goals, employment objectives, and employment targets are being met
  • Provides professional mentoring or networking opportunities for participants to continually enhance their employability
  • Keeps track of participants’ licensing and employment progress and provides regular follow up to support and guide every case managed participant
  • Provides participants with job maintenance support in order to achieve sustainable and permanent employment after the FCR process
  • Follows up with participants on a consistent basis to support, guide, and motivate their licensing employment outcomes
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, social work, psychology, sociology, and/or career and employment development
  • Dentistry work experience is an asset
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) or equivalent designation is an asset
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in the social services and employment sector
  • Experience in coordinating and implementing programs
  • Experience in building partnerships with community agencies and other stakeholders
  • Experience in career counselling and FCR processes 
  • Experience working with diverse and multicultural clientele facing complex social barriers
  • Knowledge of intercultural and social issues
  • Knowledge of the local labour market
  • Knowledge of employment trends and information
