About the Position:

The Community Connections Coordinator is responsible for building connections with community members and organizers within their local service region.

Reports to: Regional Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports ISIP teams in the aspects of community connections programming, monitoring, and reporting
  • Supports ISIP teams in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers
  • Works closely with the regional leadership team in ensuring community connections programs are resourced and delivered in accordance with best practices to achieving targets
  • Ensures a high standard of service delivery that is implemented in accordance with contract requirements, volunteer management protocols, and standards
  • Ensures all operational and administrative processes are implemented to achieving community connections programming outcomes
  • Develops and implements a strategic plan for promoting community connection programs and volunteering opportunities
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of the community connections programs and implements new strategies as necessary
  • Assists with compiling statistics for reporting purposes
  • Performs other related duties assigned by Regional Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-Secondary education in social sciences, community development, or a related field
  • Experience with multicultural clientele and immigrant related services
  • Experience in volunteer coordination
  • Experience in coaching volunteers
  • Experience in engagement and partnership development
  • Experience in delivering training and/or workshops
  • Knowledge of settlement service delivery models and terminology
  • Knowledge of the local service region

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Second language knowledge is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detailed and confidential information
  • Excellent technical skills in MS office and web-based applications
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent coaching and training facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to support individuals and communities facing cultural adjustment challenges and barriers

Other Requirements:

  • Criminal Record Check Required
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations within Greater Vancouver as required
