About the Position:

The Content Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing a content strategy that support S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s objectives and priorities related to branding, advocacy, and community relations. They are responsible for designing a range of content for print and digital platforms, supporting consistent application of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. brand guidelines, and building positive awareness about S.U.C.C.E.S.S. among a wide range of audiences.

Reports to: Senior Manager, Advocacy & Community Relations

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a content strategy based on S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s objectives and priorities related to branding, advocacy, and community relations
  • Design content for print and digital platforms including social media, e-newsletter, website, annual reports, and other materials as aligned with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. priorities and strategies related to branding, advocacy, and community relations
  • Write and edit a wide range of content for different audiences on different communication platforms such as social media messages, news releases, website content, client/volunteer/donor stories, and presentations
  • Support the implementation of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. brand guidelines across the agency by ensuring appropriate use of design assets (e.g. logos, fonts, graphics/templates) as well as consistent tone, style, and voice of branded content
  • Maintain editorial calendars for social media, e-newsletters, and other special projects
  • Maintain content oversight of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. website and social media channels to ensure it is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. priorities and brand guidelines
  • Monitor and conduct trend analysis of website and social media metrics and develop strategies to improve content delivery based on data
  • Support programs with their use of social media for program promotional purposes to ensure it is aligned with social media best practices
  • Monitor, collate, and analyze coverage of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in social media, and advise supervisor of potential risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Liaise with programs and external suppliers to support the design and production of collateral materials
  • Support the implementation of community relations events and activities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing, preferably in the social services sector
  • Experience in designing content for print and digital platforms including social media

  • Ability build a content strategy that aligns with the organization’s objectives
  • Ability to design compelling and engaging content for print and digital platforms including social media, e-newsletters, and website
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to use inclusive language and tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Knowledgeable about current practices and trends for effective communication on print and digital platforms
  • Ability to interpret and conduct trend analysis of website and social media metrics
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deal with emerging priorities
  • Able to utilize tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive matters
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Strong skills in MS Office, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and graphic design
