About the Position:

The Wellness Walks Officers lead physically distanced walk outdoors for groups of Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) during their 14-day self-isolation period at the Hotel. The Wellness Walks officers works with the Associate Program Director in producing quality programs according to best practices with measurable performance assessment that are aligned with the program objectives and expectations.

Reports to: Associate Program Director

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates weekly Wellness Walks schedule
  • Contacts each Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) by phone to extend an invitation to the Wellness Walk
  • Liaises with the on-site TFW Nurse Team and Hotel coordinator daily for TFW guest list
  • Implement current Provincial protocols regarding the prevention of COVID-19 transmission
  • Reinforces to TFWs that daily self-checks are vital and encourage them to speak to the onsite nurse team if they are experiencing any health challenges
  • Lead the TFWs staying in the Hotel on physically distanced Wellness Walks in the neighbourhood
  • Provides client-centered settlement and integration information and orientation services about Canada
  • Prepares incident reports to Program Director
  • Maintains electronic log of all Wellness Walks conducted
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Program Director

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social or Human Sciences
  • Experience in working with temporary foreign workers, immigrants, live-in caregivers, refugees
  • Knowledge about settlement information and resources
  • Knowledgeable of the geographic area served

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Second language in Spanish considered an asset
  • Strong group facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Excellent time and resource management skills
  • Strong computer skills (including internet proficiency)
  • Able to work with individuals and communities facing cultural adjustment challenges
  • Able to create, and maintain client records and reports
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and interactive Internet usage, including communication platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and GotoMeeting

Other Requirements:

  • Works flexible schedules (able to work in early mornings, evenings and/or weekends)
  • Able to travel regularly to Hotels to support the program
  • Clear criminal record check
