Seniors Enrichment Project (SEP)

1236 unitedway

The Tri-Cities Seniors Enrichment Project (SEP) is an initiative by SUCCESS through the auspices of United Way of Lower Mainland that aims to reach out and serve the needs of various seniors in the BurQuitlam and Tri-Cities area, specifically the Korean and Persian communities. The project hopes to provide combined settlement and social connection services to the vulnerable senior populations. SEP will offer computer classes & English Conversation Circles for beginners, (previously called English Practice Classes) health & lifestyle orientations, networking and creative sharing opportunities, to name a few. SEP offers:

A. Basic Computer Classes in Korean/English & Persian/English Languages
B. English Conversation Circle (Beginners only)
C. Cross-cultural Meet-ups
D. Workshops
E. Community Tours
F. Annual Tri-Cities Multicultural Seniors Day

  A. Basic Computer Classes in Korean/English & Persian/English Languages
This program provides computer lessons in beginner’s level for seniors. It aims to empower seniors by increasing their independence and technological knowledge, but will also enable them to meet and socialize with other seniors, thereby facilitating social connections. The program will help the seniors to develop skills and dexterity to maneuver around high technology so they can communicate with their loved ones or just plain surf the internet for entertainment.
