Johnny Cheng was appointed Director of the Active Engagement and Integration Project (AEIP) in 2015. He is responsible for S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s pre-arrival settlement services and initiatives.
Since 2008, Johnny has managed the development and implementation of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s overseas operations. Under his leadership, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. established AEIP and opened its first two overseas services centres in Seoul, South Korea and Taipei, Taiwan to serve newcomers destined for Canada. He once again led AEIP’s growth in 2015 by establishing partnerships with settlement agencies across Canada, opening of the Beijing Service Centre, and expanding outreach services to eight countries in Asia and the United States.
Prior to his work on the pre-arrival portfolio, Johnny managed and delivered numerous employment programs at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. including employment service centres and immigrant youth programming.
With over 14 years of experience, Johnny has developed a strong portfolio in immigrant issues and is particularly interested in bridging newcomers to the Canadian labour market. He has presented extensively at national conferences including Metropolis, CAPLA, and Cannexus.
In addition to a background in business administration, he is also a Certified Career Development Practitioner.
